Applications Packager

About the role

Datacom, an Australasian technology provider, is hiring an Applications Packager in Christchurch. The role provides key packaging services to managed service customers, responding to contracted and project requests as part of a broader team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end packaging, repackaging, testing and deployment of applications across BAU activities and project initiatives.
• Manage application lifecycle activities including discovery, analysis, packaging, troubleshooting, deployment support and ongoing optimisation.
• Collaborate with project teams, customers and stakeholders to deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Maintain operational documentation, standards and knowledge resources, and contribute to pre-sales, bids, solution design and proof-of-concept work.
• Analyse and resolve packaging and deployment issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support after-hours project and operational activities when required, and mentor less experienced team members.

Required profile

• 5 years of IT industry experience, preferably in an IT managed service provider, with about 3 years in a similar application packaging role.
• Exceptional troubleshooting, customer service, communication and prioritisation skills, able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable with rapid change and willing to travel to Datacom, customer sites and conferences when required.

Required skills

• Packaging tools such as InstallShield and Master Packager.
• Windows 10/11 and macOS.
• Endpoint management platforms, System Centre Configuration Manager, Intune, VMware Workspace ONE and Jamf.
