Workday HCM Consultant

About the role

Cognizant is seeking a Workday HCM Consultant to bridge business and technical teams, guiding clients through transformation, implementation, and operation of Workday solutions. You will become a product expert and help clients migrate from legacy systems to a modern Workday HCM environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in Workday design, configuration, testing and implementation.
• Recommend optimal solutions based on client requirements, budget and timeline, adapting scope as needed.
• Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate concerns across the portfolio.
• Facilitate design sessions and configuration decisions using best practices.
• Support clients throughout all project phases, ensuring smooth data migration and process transition.
• Lead projects or act as a Cognizant/Workday Partner Lead when required.
• Perform data loading (iLoads), tenant migrations, business‑process and security configuration.
• Mentor junior consultants and share knowledge through internal training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Workday functional implementation experience (highly desired).
• 2‑5 years experience in HR, Payroll, or Financial software implementation.
• Experience gathering requirements, prototyping, testing and delivering solutions under multiple deadlines.
