WordPress Developer (Full Stack)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join Global Wave Group’s IT team in Albany, Auckland. You will build and maintain high‑performance web solutions, working closely with product, marketing and design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the company website using WordPress and PHP.
• Transform UI/UX designs into responsive, fast‑loading web pages.
• Customize themes and plugins, writing clean, modular PHP code.
• Optimize site performance, speed, SEO structure and overall user experience.
• Troubleshoot bugs, refine workflows and enhance site functionality.
• Collaborate with product, marketing and design teams to deliver updates and new features.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in WordPress or front‑end development.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English; Mandarin is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong PHP programming skills.
• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.
• Hands‑on experience with WordPress themes, plugins, hooks and filters.
• Understanding of SEO‑friendly site architecture.
• Experience with page‑builders such as Elementor or WPBakery and building custom plugins.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and website integrations.
• Familiarity with hosting environments, DNS and server management.
