About the role
A busy, well-established engineering workshop in Whanganui is looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator. The role covers fabrication, welding, structural steel work, pipework, maintenance and general engineering projects for industrial and commercial clients.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld structural steel and general engineering components
- Carry out pipe fabrication and welding as part of project and maintenance work
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Workshop-based fabrication with some site work as required
- Maintain high standards of quality and safety
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator
- Experience with pipework fabrication and welding
- Ability to work from drawings with minimal supervision
- Reliable, motivated and committed to quality work
Required skills
- Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills
- Structural steel fabrication
