Underground Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

OceanaGold is seeking an Underground Maintenance Supervisor to lead the underground maintenance department at its Waihi gold mine in New Zealand. The role offers a stable, residential work environment with a strong focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement of underground mobile plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise all maintenance activities performed by the underground maintenance team and contractors.
• Maximise equipment availability by planning, scheduling and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance, ensure safe work practices and compliance with company safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work and ensure resources are available for scheduled tasks and breakdowns.
• Develop and mentor the maintenance team, conduct performance coaching and address skill gaps.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and ensure training and competency requirements are met.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising underground maintenance operations or similar heavy‑equipment environments.
• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on safety, team motivation and performance development.
• Ability to schedule work, manage resources and coordinate with contractors.
