Technical Project Specialist – Transformer Projects

About the role
As a Technical Project Specialist at Hitachi Energy NZ Ltd., you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of transformer projects. You will ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations while supporting Hitachi's innovation and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Manage transformer projects from hand‑over to final delivery, monitoring progress and taking corrective actions when needed.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Hitachi’s project management methodologies, quality standards, health & safety policies, and relevant regulations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and tools.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- More than 5 years of experience in transformer manufacturing or design.
- PMP or equivalent project‑management certification.
- Strong understanding of project‑management methodologies and ability to influence diverse teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Fluency in English.
