Tax Manager / Associate Director – Christchurch

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is looking for an experienced Tax Manager or Associate Director to join its Christchurch team. You will work with a diverse client base, ranging from large corporations to high‑net‑worth individuals, delivering high‑quality tax advice and helping clients achieve their business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert corporate tax advice across a varied client portfolio.
• Lead and develop client relationships, managing risks and ensuring compliance.
• Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering team growth and capability.
• Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives.
• Utilise modern tools and technology to improve service efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional services or corporate tax environment.
• Professional qualification in accounting and/or law.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end tax processes and the New Zealand tax landscape.
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
• Proactive, results‑focused attitude with a client‑oriented mindset.
