Support Worker - Thames (Casual)

About the role

IDEA Services, which supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and take part in their communities, is looking for a Support Worker for its Thames service. The role is casual, and the person must live locally. You will support clients with complex needs, manage risk, ensure safety and provide individual care throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Support people with intellectual disabilities living in their own homes to achieve their goals and aspirations
• Provide individual care and help clients with complex needs
• Manage risk and ensure client safety
• Work with challenging behaviours, requiring a calm nature and confidence

Required profile

• Previous experience in caregiving or personal care for adults is preferred
• Availability to work a range of shifts, including weekends and occasional overnight shifts
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support
• Full New Zealand driver's licence and full right to work in New Zealand
• Must live locally

Required skills

• Comfortable and proficient with computers and tablets on a daily basis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
