Night Shift Support Worker - Nelson

About the role

NZCL, part of New Zealand Health Group, supports people with disabilities in New Zealand through its Disability Support Services. It is looking for permanent, part-time support workers for its Nelson Residential Services, working overnight shifts in a team that provides 24/7 support. The role helps people with various aspects of daily life so they can do the things they want to do.

Key responsibilities

• Support people with daily life activities such as personal care, meals and household management tasks
• Help people go swimming and teach life skills
• Work shifts or rosters providing 24/7 support

Required profile

• Passionate about helping others, kind and understanding
• Previous healthcare experience preferred, including with disabilities and challenging behaviour
• Full driver's licence is essential
• Initiative, energetic and outgoing, able to think outside the box
• Respectful of others' ways of living
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends
• Empathy, respect and cultural awareness
• NZ resident or citizen, or holds a valid NZ work permit
