Support Worker - Hamilton Residential Services

About the role

New Zealand Community Living (NZCL), part of New Zealand Health Group, is looking for experienced permanent full-time Support Workers to help people in its Hamilton Residential Services. The team provides a safe environment where people can develop confidence and new skills, build friendships with peers and interact with others in the community. The role works shifts or specific rosters, providing 24/7 support, with the potential of additional sleepover payments in some rosters.

Key responsibilities

• Support people with various aspects of daily life so they can do the things they want to do, such as going swimming.
• Provide personal care and support with meals.
• Help with household management tasks and teach life skills.
• Work shifts or rosters, including overnight shifts across the roster and weekends.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours.
• Full driver's licence is essential.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
• Applicants must be a New Zealand resident or citizen, or hold a valid NZ work permit.
