Support Worker Team Leader - Residential Houses, Christchurch

About the role

New Zealand Community Living (NZCL) is looking for an energetic and motivated Team Leader for its Residential Houses in Christchurch. The role leads a team that supports people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, helping them plan and work towards their goals. It involves a mix of morning, afternoon and evening shifts across the week.

Key responsibilities

• Assist people with disabilities to live as independently as possible and lead and motivate their team.
• Plan activities at home and in the community that are meaningful and purposeful, maximising independence and involving Whānau.
• Cover household duties such as meal preparation, daily care routines and personal care.
• Work with the team to implement personal support plans consistently.
• Create a warm, nurturing and inclusive environment that welcomes ideas and feedback.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification Level 3 in Health and Wellbeing.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred, including with disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• Full driver's licence is essential.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
• Applicants must be a New Zealand resident or citizen, or hold a valid NZ work permit.

Required skills

• Level 3 qualification in Health and Wellbeing.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
