Supply Chain & Logistics Manager

About the role

Opal Fibre is seeking a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to lead a large, seasonal supply chain network supporting fresh‑produce customers. Based in Hastings, the role offers high visibility with senior leadership and a pathway to national supply‑chain responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee warehousing, line‑haul freight and container movements, ensuring standardised processes and strict control of aged stock.
• Hold logistics partners accountable, drive KPI compliance and resolve freight and invoicing discrepancies.
• Use analytical tools and ordering systems to optimise working capital and maintain budgeted stock levels.
• Partner with sales, production planners and paper‑mill supply‑chain teams while maintaining relationships with major fresh‑produce clients.
• Ensure full compliance with HS&E and Chain of Responsibility legislation and mentor a team of direct and indirect reports.

Required profile

• Analytical, resilient and highly collaborative professional able to manage up and across the organisation.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale warehousing, freight operations and seasonal inventory builds, preferably in manufacturing, packaging or primary industries.
• Track record of introducing SOPs, clear KPIs and structural stability in unstructured environments.
• Strong vendor management skills with the ability to drive contract compliance.
• Experience coaching internal teams and leading site‑wide initiatives.
