Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Everbridge is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join its Auckland engineering team. You will work on the company’s agentic AI platform that powers its SaaS solution, collaborating with a diverse technology stack and a technology‑agnostic mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and deploy high‑quality applications and APIs.
• Participate in technical discussions, providing insights to improve architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Conduct code reviews and give constructive feedback.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth operation of web applications and APIs.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience developing AI solutions or a strong eagerness to learn.
• Familiarity with agentic AI practices and related coding tools.
• Proven ability to work on large code‑base or enterprise‑grade software.
• Interest in solving complex problems that help keep people safe.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
