Software Engineer (Test Systems)

About the role

Quantifi Photonics is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement platform software that orchestrates and integrates modules into fully functional test systems. You will work on cutting‑edge optical and electronic test instruments that support customers across R&D, manufacturing, defence, aerospace and academia.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement software modules that interface with internal hardware and optical products to form cohesive test systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define software requirements, integration points and system behaviour.
• Create scripts, tools and applications for automated test execution, configuration and system control.
• Assist in debugging system‑level issues, validate performance and refine software as systems evolve.
• Follow best practices for software design, documentation, version control and testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or a related field.
• Proficiency in at least one system‑level or automation‑oriented programming language (e.g., Python, C++ or C#).
• Experience integrating software with hardware using common communication protocols and control interfaces.
• Solid understanding of software design principles, version control and debugging techniques.
• Experience deploying software on both MS Windows and Linux environments.
