Software Engineer – Fixed-Term (12 months)

About the role

Join Trimble’s Business Systems team in Christchurch as an intermediate‑level Software Engineer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work with cutting‑edge technologies such as Angular, Java and MySQL to enhance and maintain our globally‑used web applications while operating in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create customer‑centric solutions by translating business requirements into technical designs.
• Write clear, efficient, modular code using widely adopted libraries and best practices.
• Design, develop, and implement innovative programs that meet user needs.
• Contribute to sprint planning and prioritisation within the Agile team.
• Showcase your work and promote understanding across the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in web application development.
• Comfortable reading, altering, and designing solutions in Java, AngularJS/Angular, React, Vue, or MySQL.
• Strong communication skills, a desire to learn and a collaborative team attitude.
• Previous experience working in an Agile environment.
• Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
