Senior Procurement and Project Controls Specialist

About the role

Join Crown Infrastructure Delivery (CID) to shape the delivery of New Zealand's infrastructure projects. This senior role provides expert procurement, commercial and project controls support across a portfolio of complex government infrastructure programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement processes in line with New Zealand Government Procurement Rules and Broader Outcomes requirements.
• Provide expert procurement and commercial advice to project teams and stakeholders.
• Support project financial management, including budgets, forecasting, commitments and payment assessments.
• Contribute to risk management and other project controls disciplines.
• Analyse and report to support informed decision‑making and ensure commercial governance.
• Build strong relationships with government agencies, consultants, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience leading or supporting complex procurement processes within government, infrastructure or construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand Government Procurement Rules and public sector procurement practices.
• Background in quantity surveying, commercial management, procurement or project controls.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
