Senior Manager – Business & Agri

About the role

This permanent senior manager position is based in Christchurch and leads the Business & Agri team for ANZ. You will guide a high‑performing group of Relationship Associates and Managers, ensuring they deliver outstanding outcomes for local businesses and agricultural clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Relationship Associates and Relationship Managers to achieve consistent, high‑quality customer results.
• Apply agricultural expertise to support sound credit decisions and drive team performance.
• Represent ANZ in the local market by engaging with customers, community groups and industry events.
• Help design and embed frameworks that standardise credit practices, training and operational models.
• Champion a culture of accountability, inclusion and data‑informed decision‑making.

Required profile

• People‑focused leader with strong knowledge of business or agricultural lending, financial analysis and relationship management.
• Proven ability to coach and empower teams, creating a positive high‑performance culture.
• Solid understanding of credit assessment, financial statements and the needs of agri‑banking clients.
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience navigating complex situations while keeping customer and business outcomes central.
