Senior Account Director

About the role

As a Senior Account Director you will lead key client relationships for VML’s Wellington team, acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders and delivering commercially impactful, creatively outstanding work.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Act as a strategic partner, contributing to business and communications objectives.
• Lead conversations that position VML as a growth partner across creative, consultancy, and technology.
• Champion high‑quality, insight‑driven strategic thinking and partner with planning and creative leadership.
• Own account profitability, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Develop and deliver account plans aligned to business objectives and drive organic growth.
• Lead, develop, and inspire high‑performing account teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience managing agency accounts for major brands.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable growth.
• Excellent leadership and people‑development skills.
• Ability to think strategically and translate insights into compelling creative solutions.
