Resistant Materials Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Resistant Materials Teacher to join our secondary school in Auckland. You will lead engaging, student‑centred lessons that develop practical skills and confidence in working with hard materials.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess a curriculum focused on resistant materials and related trades.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organised workshop environment.
• Foster positive, respectful relationships with students and staff.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative, future‑focused learning experiences.
• Contribute to school initiatives that reflect our values of Respect, Excellence, Whanaungatanga and Akoranga.

Required profile

• Student‑centred educator with a background in hard materials or trades.
• Ability to inspire and connect with secondary‑school students.
• Commitment to professional integrity, empathy and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hard‑material properties and workshop tools.
• Experience with practical, hands‑on teaching in a secondary setting.
