Registered Nurse – Community Support

About the role

HealthCare NZ is looking for an experienced, dynamic and passionate Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality nursing services to people living in the wider Napier community. You will use your nursing knowledge, assessment skills and professional judgement to provide community-based clinical support, education and advocacy. Clients have a wide range of support needs, from recovery after an injury to long-term support at home.

Key responsibilities

• Provide community-based clinical support, education and advocacy
• Carry out hands-on nursing tasks such as wound, catheter and medication management
• Support clients who need long-term care to stay safe and well in their own homes

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification and a current NZ practising certificate
• Previous experience working in the community
• Restricted or full driver's licence; able to drive alone and visit clients in their own homes
• NZ resident or citizen, or holds a valid NZ work permit
• Experience level of 1-3, 3-5 or 5-7 years

• Strong clinical assessment skills
• Excellent verbal communication and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Team player who builds professional relationships in the community
• Self-directed, able to manage a busy workload
• Competent computer skills, including email, computer-based assessments and smartphones and tablets

• No shift work; 6-month fixed-term, full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm
