Quality and Training Lead

About the role

Professional Building Consultants Ltd (PBC) is seeking a Quality and Training Lead to drive training, competency and technical capability across the organisation. Reporting to the Manager – Quality & Training, you will work closely with directors and senior technical staff to maintain strong accreditation systems and deliver high‑quality services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver technical training for new and existing staff.
• Lead the competency assessment programme and support staff development.
• Oversee onboarding and capability uplift for new employees.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance, coaching and mentorship.
• Maintain IANZ BCA accreditation and Approved Organisation status.
• Develop and improve accredited policies, procedures and quality systems.
• Manage the internal technical audit programme.
• Ensure delivery of professional service to clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Confident, credible professional with a passion for people development.
• Proven experience designing and delivering training and assessing staff competency.
• Strong knowledge of BCA accreditation requirements and IANZ processes.
• Understanding of the NZ Building Code and regulatory framework.
• Excellent written communication for policies, training materials and technical documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with directors, managers, councils and staff.
