Quality and Training Lead

About the role

Professional Building Consultants Ltd (PBC) is seeking a Quality and Training Lead to drive technical training, competency assessment and capability uplift across the organisation. You will work closely with senior technical staff and directors to ensure the company maintains its IANZ‑accredited status while delivering high‑quality services to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan, coordinate and deliver technical training for new and existing staff.
• Lead and continuously improve the competency assessment programme.
• Support onboarding and capability development for all technical roles.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance, coaching and mentorship.
• Maintain accreditation systems, policies, procedures and quality systems to ensure IANZ BCA compliance.
• Oversee the internal technical audit programme.
• Deliver professional service to clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Confident, credible professional passionate about people development and technical capability.
• Proven experience designing and delivering training programmes.
• Strong knowledge of BCA accreditation requirements and IANZ processes.
• Experience in building control, regulatory compliance or quality systems is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the NZ Building Code and related regulatory framework.
• Excellent written communication for policies, training materials and technical documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with directors, managers, councils and staff.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
