Project Manager – City Waters

About the role

Join Tauranga City Council’s City Waters team and help shape the future of Tauranga by delivering essential water infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to grow your project management career while working on a diverse programme of capital projects that improve the city’s livability and environmental health.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a range of water infrastructure capital projects from planning through to completion.
• Support the management of project scope, budget, programme, and quality.
• Collaborate with contractors and consultants to keep projects on track.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement across the programme.

Required profile

• Experience in infrastructure, construction, consulting, or a related field (water‑sector experience is a plus).
• Exposure to planning, solution development, or project delivery.
• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., engineering, project management) is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
