Project Engineer – Powder Handling

About the role

Join Tetra Pak's Powder Handling team in Hamilton as a Project Engineer, driving innovative milk‑powder projects from concept through to commissioning. You will work closely with clients, translating requirements into detailed mechanical designs and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine concept designs, manage budget estimates and client communications.
• Create detailed mechanical engineering documentation, including P&IDs, fabrication layouts and mechanical drawings.
• Prepare as‑built drawings and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Participate in on‑site installation, commissioning and validation of offshore and local projects, with travel as required.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of engineering experience in powder food process design.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Process Engineering, NZCE registration.
• Strong understanding of process technology, standards and cost management (SAP).
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage projects end‑to‑end.
