Project Engineer – Industrial Refrigeration (Australia relocation)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to design, deliver and support industrial refrigeration solutions for a range of sectors across Australia. The role involves end‑to‑end project ownership, from detailed engineering calculations to on‑site commissioning, and may include relocation to one of our major cities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs and calculations for refrigeration systems.
• Prepare cost estimates, tender submissions and technical documentation for local, interstate and overseas projects.
• Upgrade existing refrigeration plants to meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
• Promote GBI services such as consulting, contracting, maintenance and parts supply.
• Manage projects through design, procurement, coordination, cost control and delivery.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with Australian and international standards.
• Provide drafting support using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for small‑scale projects.
• Perform on‑site audits, prepare client reports and support commissioning, training and service activities.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification with experience in industrial refrigeration or compression equipment.
• Proven background in mechanical, electrical or process engineering design and project delivery, preferably in heavy‑industry environments such as petrochemical, oil & gas or food & beverage.
• Experience conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
