Part-Time Youth Support Worker

About the role

Emerge Aotearoa is a for-purpose organisation providing community-based mental health, addiction, residential, respite, housing and social services. It is hiring a Youth Support Worker for its Youth Mobile - ADHB service in Mount Wellington. This is a permanent part-time role of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, supporting infants, children, adolescents, youth and their whānau who are engaged with the service and following exit.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate group activities that promote participation, wellbeing and community connection.
• Support young people and whānau to work towards identified goals.
• Connect people and families with community and specialist support services.
• Build positive relationships with schools, providers and community networks.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to care planning.
• Work collaboratively with clinical teams and external partners.

Required profile

• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4, or equivalent, or commitment to achieve it within the required timeframe.
• Approximately two years' experience supporting young people in health, community, youth or social services.
• Knowledge of community resources and youth support pathways.
• Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR, or be willing and able to complete it.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to facilitate activities and engage effectively with young people and whānau.
• Positive, strengths-based approach; works well independently and as part of a team.
