Experienced Support Worker - Medically Fragile Children

About the role

Geneva Healthcare, a provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support services, is looking for an experienced Support Worker to join its team in the Beach Haven (Northshore) area of Auckland. The role supports medically fragile children so they can achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives through practical and emotional support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with hoisting and transfers
• Provide personal care
• Monitor oxygen levels and administer medication
• Suctioning and feeding via PEG tube
• Monitor for seizure activity

Candidates must be willing to complete all Geneva pre-requisite training.

Required profile

• Previous support worker experience in the disability field
• Background in supporting medically fragile children or complex needs
• Positive attitude and genuine desire to help others
• Good communication skills and flexibility to work weekends
• Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in health and wellbeing
• Full New Zealand driver's licence and reliable transport
• Right to work in New Zealand and willingness to undergo police vetting and other checks
