Part-Time Retail Assistant - Lingerie Department

About the role

A department store in Palmerston North is looking for a part-time Retail Assistant focused on merchandising, working in its lingerie department. The role combines merchandising skills with customer service, and suits someone with 3-4 years of experience in personalised retail sales who wants to create an outstanding in-store experience.

Key responsibilities

• Present product ranges attractively and professionally to engage customers
• Set up in-store promotions accurately and on schedule, keeping offers clear and compelling
• Implement new-season plans so merchandise flows logically and attracts attention
• Provide personalised service, consulting with customers to meet their needs
• Advise across multiple departments using wide product knowledge
• Coach new team members and lead by example to uphold high service standards

Required profile

• 3-4 years of experience in a personalised retail service and sales role
• Background in in-store styling or personal shopping
• Proven ability to set up promotions and implement new-season adjacency plans
• Solid understanding of visual merchandising principles
• Positive, energetic attitude and flexibility in a fast-paced retail environment

The rostered hours are Monday 9:30am-5:30pm, Thursday 10:00am-5:00pm, Friday 11:00am-7:15pm and Sunday 9:45am-4:00pm. Candidates must show evidence of entitlement to work in New Zealand during the selection process, bringing original documents to an interview.
