Maintenance Fitter – Manufacturing Plant

About the role

Aliaxis is looking for a motivated Maintenance Fitter to join its small, supportive maintenance team at the Dynex manufacturing site in Avondale. You will work Monday to Friday, 8.30 am‑5.30 pm, ensuring plant equipment runs safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical maintenance and preventative repairs on plant equipment.
• Carry out hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to breakdown call‑outs and diagnose issues in collaboration with electrical support.
• Order spare parts through store requisitions and manage inventory.
• Support capital projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Record all maintenance activities daily in the CMMS (MEX) system.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified (Level 4) Fitting and Turning or dual‑trade qualification.
• 3‑5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, plastic, FMCG or heavy‑industrial settings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team while following OH&S procedures.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and preventative maintenance.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
• Welding (MIG, TIG, stick) – desirable.
• Machining – desirable.
• Use of CMMS (MEX) for job recording.
• Knowledge of extrusion, water process plants, raw‑material handling, granulation and pumps.
