Maintenance Fitter

About the role

Gallagher is seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join its Hamilton manufacturing team on the afternoon shift (3:30 pm – 12:00 am, Monday‑Friday). Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure plant equipment, facilities and infrastructure operate safely and reliably, supporting production schedules and delivery commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance according to schedule.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and complete timely repairs.
• Identify reliability improvements and recommend corrective actions.
• Record all work and maintenance activity in the CMMS.
• Support Lean/5S initiatives and participate in Practical Problem Solving and root‑cause analysis.
• Raise purchase orders and obtain quotes for mechanical work.
• Collaborate with supervisors, production teams and external contractors.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified fitter with a Level 4 certification in fitting, diagnostics or maintenance.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding capability and ability to work unsupervised.
• Excellent time‑management, communication and attention to detail.
