Maintenance Electrician

About the role

Goodman Fielder New Zealand, a large branded food manufacturer and supplier, is looking for a maintenance engineer / electrician. The role covers safety, quality, reactive and preventative maintenance, efficiency and cost-effective management of the engineering function, including plant, buildings, project management, new installations and contractor management. Shifts are predominantly day shifts, Sunday to Thursday, with night-call duty.

Key responsibilities

• Support action plans and drive improvements, including deep-dive reviews, improvement projects, corrective action and plant maintenance
• Promote injury and incident prevention and manage quality risks for consumers and brands
• Improve machinery reliability and schedule and carry out routine maintenance
• Handle unplanned breakdowns and general engineering repairs
• Develop and implement plant improvements that meet QA, food safety and HSE requirements

Required profile

• Experienced maintenance engineer with a background in both reactive and preventative industrial machinery maintenance
• Electrical qualification and EWRB registration
• Knowledge of health, safety and environment, including machinery guarding
• Strong growth mindset and eagerness to learn

Required skills

• Root cause analysis of PLCs (Siemens and Allen-Bradley)
• Basic computer documentation skills in Word, Excel and similar tools
