Head of Client and Broker Engagement (NZ)

About the role

The Head of Client and Broker Engagement (CBE) in New Zealand will lead AIG’s broker channel and client engagement strategy, driving revenue growth and delivering a differentiated client experience. Reporting to the Country GM and matrix‑reporting to the APAC Head of CBE, you will shape the go‑to‑market distribution approach and champion AIG’s value proposition.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute AIG’s broker distribution strategy, including profitable retention, growth initiatives and joint marketing programmes.
• Lead client stewardship activities such as relationship management, client seminars and conferences to improve retention and penetration.
• Promote AIG’s multinational value proposition to brokers and clients, highlighting unique selling points in commercial lines.
• Ensure profit centres adopt best‑practice sales processes, leveraging analytics tools such as Salesforce and D&B.
• Manage cross‑functional relationships with Claims, CSG, FP&A, O&S, Legal and other service centres to support seamless execution.

Required profile

• Strong insurance industry experience, including frontline underwriting or broking.
• Deep market expertise with a track record of analysing trends and delivering profitable growth.
• Proven ability to build strategic relationships with external stakeholders and represent the AIG brand with conviction.
• Solid understanding of insurance management information reports and financial implications of decisions.
