Head of Client and Broker Engagement

About the role

The Head of Client and Broker Engagement (CBE) in New Zealand will lead the broker channel and client engagement functions, driving revenue growth and delivering a differentiated value proposition across AIG’s product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute AIG’s broker distribution strategy, including retention, growth, and joint marketing initiatives.
• Lead client stewardship programs to improve retention and penetration through relationship management, seminars and conferences.
• Promote AIG’s multinational value proposition to brokers and clients, reinforcing brand differentiation in commercial lines.
• Ensure profit centres follow best‑practice sales processes, leveraging analytics tools such as Salesforce and D&B.
• Collaborate with Claims, CSG, FP&A, O&S, Legal and other service centres to support end‑to‑end client and broker solutions.
• Manage, coach and develop a high‑performing team, set KPIs, conduct performance reviews and implement succession planning.
• Represent AIG on committees such as the Local Producer Compensation Committee and Product Governance Committee.

Required profile

• Extensive insurance industry experience, preferably in underwriting or broking.
• Proven ability to analyse market trends and deliver profitable growth.
• Strong leadership with a reputation for integrity, ethics and inclusive team management.
• Excellent financial acumen and strategic thinking aligned with global AIG goals.
