Employment Tax Manager

About the role

Join PwC New Zealand as an Employment Tax Manager in Auckland, delivering high‑quality tax advice and compliance services. You will work with a specialist team to support a growing pipeline of client engagements across PAYE, FBT, employee share schemes and broader employment tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support employment tax advisory and compliance engagements, including PAYE, FBT and employee share scheme reporting.
• Provide technically robust tax advice on remuneration arrangements, international workforce tax and employer compliance.
• Conduct employment and payroll tax reviews, voluntary disclosures and risk‑management projects.
• Assist with tax advisory, structuring and reporting for employee share schemes and equity‑based rewards.
• Support tax input into transactions, restructurings and business change initiatives.
• Coach and delegate work to junior team members across advisory and compliance.
• Leverage GenAI, digital tools and PwC methodologies to improve efficiency and client outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.

Required profile

• Manager‑level experience in employment tax advisory and compliance.
• Proven ability to lead engagements and mentor junior staff.
• Comfortable using AI and digital tools to enhance service delivery.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships.
