Developer Portal & Community Manager

About the role

This position is based in New Zealand and sits at the heart of an open‑hardware product ecosystem. You will own the Developer Portal, turning complex engineering work into clear, public documentation and fostering an active global developer community.

Key responsibilities

• Own, structure, and continuously improve the Developer Portal as the single source of truth for external contributors.
• Translate internal engineering discussions, technical updates, and product changes into accessible public documentation.
• Maintain and organise wiki pages, GitHub repositories, and developer‑facing resources across multiple sub‑projects.
• Participate in engineering meetings to stay aligned with development direction.
• Moderate community contributions, discussions, issues, and pull requests to ensure quality and relevance.
• Collect and synthesize community feedback and relay insights back to internal teams.
• Help developers navigate the portal, contribute effectively, and engage with the ecosystem.

Required profile

• Excellent written communication with a proven ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to extract key insights from technical discussions.
• Comfortable working closely with engineers across hardware and software domains.
• Ability to distinguish valuable feedback from noise and maintain focus on high‑quality contributions.
• Organisational mindset with a focus on structure, clarity, and information architecture.
