Corporate and Commercial Lawyer

About the role

Anthony Harper, a national corporate and commercial practice in New Zealand with offices in Auckland and Christchurch, is hiring an experienced lawyer for its Christchurch office. The role suits someone with three or more years' experience in corporate or commercial law who wants interesting, high-quality work and a supportive, experienced team.

You will work alongside partners and the wider team on a broad range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and joint venture arrangements, business structuring, private equity and venture capital, commercial contracting and general corporate and commercial advisory. You will work with founders, investors, boards and established businesses on significant transactions across Aotearoa, taking ownership of your work, working directly with clients and being involved from start to finish.

Required profile

• Admitted to practise in New Zealand
• At least three years of post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law
• Strong drafting skills
• Confident working independently and collaboratively, delivering high-quality work that meets client expectations
• A commercially pragmatic approach to legal advice, with clear communication with clients and colleagues
• Sound judgement, problem-solving ability and motivation to develop technical and professional skills
