Business Development Manager - Lower North Island

About the role

Halo Systems makes smart, automated technology that lets farmers monitor and control key parts of their farming operations from anywhere. It is looking for a driven Business Development professional to own Halo's growth across Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu-Wanganui and Wellington. Based in Taranaki, the role is hands-on sales: building relationships with farmers, dealers and industry partners and turning them into business. Travel to Hawke's Bay and around the region happens about every 6-8 weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Drive new business, with effluent monitoring as a key focus, especially farms approaching consent renewal or conversion.
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline in HubSpot.
• Develop relationships with farmers, contractors, suppliers and industry partners to generate new business.
• Grow sales across Halo's wider offering, including grain silo, milk vat and chemical monitoring.
• Strengthen the dealer network and identify opportunities to win customers from competing solutions.
• Support existing customers and identify further growth opportunities.
• Prepare accurate quotes and work with dealers through installation and commissioning.

Required profile

• Proven success in business development and solution sales, with strong commercial acumen.
• A confident communicator and natural relationship builder who enjoys getting out on farm.
• CRM experience, ideally HubSpot.
• Comfortable travelling and spending time in the market.
• Professional, safety-conscious and motivated to deliver results.
• An advantage: agriculture, dairy, irrigation or agri-tech experience.
