Assistant Store Manager (2IC)

About the role

Arc'teryx is opening its first-ever store in the South Island, its largest Alpha Store in the region, and is looking for an Assistant Store Manager in Queenstown. You will partner closely with the Store Manager to build and inspire a great team, create an outstanding guest experience and run the store to a high standard, leading from the floor while helping establish a strong presence in the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Support and inspire the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and achieve sales goals
• Drive a culture of accountability, development and high performance
• Champion visual merchandising, product education and sell-through strategies
• Lead by example and step in wherever needed, from the stockroom to the sales floor
• Build community connections and bring the Arc'teryx brand to life
• Partner with the Store Manager on recruitment, onboarding, coaching and team development
• Support operational excellence, including labour planning, inventory management and store standards

Required profile

• 2-3 years of leadership experience in a retail environment
• Growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit
• Passion for the outdoors and the gear that enables adventure
• Commercial mindset with strategic thinking and decisive action
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
