Branch Manager – Commercial Insurance

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Branch Manager to lead its Dunedin branch within the Commercial team. The role delivers excellent client service and meets business goals, working closely with senior leaders to strengthen sales performance, support team development and drive consistent commercial outcomes. It suits someone who balances leadership, client focus, operational management and financial accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Dunedin branch with clear direction, effective communication and practical support.
• Oversee branch business planning, set priorities and help deliver revenue, expense and trading profit targets.
• Build a strong sales culture and guide renewal, broking, retention and new business activity.
• Develop team capability through feedback, coaching, performance reviews and training support.
• Maintain high standards across client service, compliance, quality practices and operational processes.
• Manage key client relationships and work with internal leaders, insurers and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in branch, team or people leadership within financial services, insurance or a related commercial environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control expenditure and contribute to financial performance.
• Thorough understanding of relevant insurance legislation, quality standards and compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of insurance broking, client service delivery and commercial account management.
• Postgraduate management qualifications or a degree in a relevant field are a plus.
