AI Engineer – R&D Tax Incentives SaaS

About the role

We are building an AI‑powered SaaS platform that automates the first‑level legal and technical assessment of R&D projects and IP assets for companies seeking R&D Tax Incentives and Patent Box benefits in Hong Kong. As an AI Engineer you will shape a transformative tool that analyses company data, uploaded documents and public information, compares findings with government legislation, and generates qualification reports.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a robust AI‑driven web application for automated R&D Tax Incentives and Patent Box eligibility assessments.
• Integrate secure data collection modules for company information and document uploads.
• Implement machine‑learning and NLP models to extract relevant data from diverse documents.
• Develop algorithms that compare extracted data against current Hong Kong legislation and guidance.
• Generate automated, user‑friendly reports indicating qualification likelihood while supporting expert review at key decision points.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, ensure scalability, and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing AI‑powered SaaS platforms, preferably in legal, tax or compliance domains.
• Strong proficiency in machine learning, natural language processing and data‑extraction techniques.
• Expertise in modern web‑application frameworks such as React, Node.js or Django.
• Familiarity with secure data handling, privacy regulations and best practices for sensitive information.
• Ability to translate complex legislative requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills for working with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Immediate availability and capacity to deliver within tight timelines.
• Based in Hong Kong or able to work remotely with a solid understanding of the Hong Kong regulatory environment.
