Transformer Technician

About the role

Powertech is seeking an experienced Transformer Technician to join its Perth office. You will support high‑voltage transformer servicing, refurbishment, installation and fault diagnosis across a range of sectors including mining, renewables, oil & gas and defence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver transformer servicing, refurbishment and installation projects in line with the business plan.
• Perform oil filtration, circulation and oil‑diagnosis testing on HV power transformers.
• Provide on‑site technical support, including fault finding, diagnosis and corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for clients.
• Travel to remote sites, offshore locations and interstate projects as required.

Required profile

• Electrical trade qualification (current fitter/mechanic licence preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with power transformers.
• Ability to work independently and build strong client relationships.
• Willingness to relocate to Perth if based elsewhere.
