Team Leader – Line Mechanic (Power Network Services)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Line Mechanic to take on a Team Leader role within our Matamata crew. You will lead crews delivering construction, maintenance and fault‑response services across the electricity distribution network, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate field crews on daily network projects, maintenance tasks and fault‑response work.
• Plan and allocate resources, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and project schedules.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors and the public.
• Prepare and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Safety and Environmental Analyses (JSEAs).

Required profile

• Current Line Mechanic registration and practising licence.
• NZQA Level 4 qualification and a valid Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Proven experience in low‑voltage electrical work and strong knowledge of SMEI standards.
• Commitment to Zero Harm safety practices and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
