Solutions Architect

About the role

Join a leading New Zealand insurer as a Solutions Architect, driving innovative, market‑ready products and shaping the technology landscape. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver consistent, scalable solutions that support the company’s mission of helping customers through the unexpected.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver architectural solutions aligned with IT principles, standards, and the Architectural Roadmap.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
• Set strategic architecture direction that positions the company as a technology leader.
• Lead solution design decisions, enforcing architecture frameworks such as microservices and domain‑driven design.
• Design and evaluate scalable solutions balancing business needs, cost, supportability, and technology strategy.
• Define AI/GenAI architecture standards, including governance, monitoring, security, privacy, and risk compliance.
• Strengthen enterprise and development practices through innovation, performance improvements, and adherence to software standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Solutions Architect, or 2 years with 3+ years as a Technical Lead/Lead Engineer.
• Proven track record delivering innovative technical solutions to consumer markets.
• Understanding of the financial services industry, particularly general insurance.
• Experience designing and implementing systems across multiple technology platforms, especially web‑based environments.
• Broad knowledge of current technology trends, enterprise architecture principles, and end‑to‑end technology ecosystems (cloud, data, security, infrastructure).
