Senior Microsoft Cybersecurity Consultant

About the role

Datacom is looking for a Senior Microsoft Cybersecurity Consultant to join New Zealand's largest cybersecurity services company. You will work with a dedicated team to deliver strategic guidance, design robust security architectures, and showcase Microsoft security capabilities to a range of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a subject‑matter expert on Microsoft security solutions across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Design and implement end‑to‑end security architectures using Microsoft technologies, aligning with industry standards and customer needs.
• Lead the development, configuration and deployment of Microsoft security controls, automation, and threat analysis.
• Engage with customers, presales teams and Microsoft architects to ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Conduct hands‑on workshops and training sessions for customers, partners and internal teams.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to Microsoft product teams based on real‑world implementations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Microsoft security solutions such as Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Purview.
• Proven ability to design and deliver enterprise‑scale security architectures in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain complex security concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft security certifications).
