Senior Manager Governance & Framework

About the role

The Senior Manager, Governance & Framework will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of non‑financial risk (NFR) governance across ANZ's New Zealand division. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure that risk frameworks align with Group standards, regulatory expectations and the division’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Design, embed and refine NFR governance frameworks, forums and decision‑making structures.
• Oversee divisional risk‑appetite statements, risk taxonomy alignment and related governance processes.
• Aggregate and synthesize risk, control and assurance insights from business units, centres of excellence and testing functions.
• Coordinate risk‑assessment processes and monitor material risks against the approved appetite.
• Provide high‑quality, decision‑ready insights to senior leaders and governance committees.
• Support business‑unit risk spokes, drive standardisation and facilitate workflow efficiency.
• Act as a trusted Line 1 risk partner, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
• Coach and develop governance and reporting team members to raise capability and consistency.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in non‑financial risk, governance, controls, audit or assurance within a complex organisation.
• Deep understanding of risk‑governance frameworks, risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to translate complex risk information into concise executive‑level insights.
• Strong judgement to identify emerging, systemic or out‑of‑appetite risks.
