Senior Frontend Engineer - Digital

About the role

One NZ is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer – Digital to design, develop and maintain high‑quality web and mobile applications. You will work primarily with Flutter to deliver scalable, performant, and user‑friendly digital experiences that integrate seamlessly with backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop web and mobile applications using Flutter.
• Deliver responsive, cross‑platform solutions that meet performance and scalability targets.
• Collaborate with design teams to create intuitive, visually polished user interfaces.
• Lead component design, participate in design reviews and shape frontend architecture.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and standardised data exchange patterns.
• Troubleshoot complex integration issues and promote best practices in API consumption.
• Optimize code for performance, maintainability and resource efficiency.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high quality.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve defects across web and mobile platforms.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor engineers and contribute to code reviews.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and daily stand‑ups.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Evaluate emerging frontend technologies and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a frontend developer building web and mobile applications with Flutter.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, design patterns and cross‑platform development.
• Experience with React or React Native is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead technical decisions and mentor junior team members.
• Comfortable working in an Agile, collaborative environment.
