Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

BlueRock is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join its growing Hawke's Bay team. This full‑time position offers flexibility around start and finish times and plays a pivotal role in managing day‑to‑day bookkeeping for internal advisory divisions and new client onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Manage end‑to‑end payroll, including superannuation, payroll tax and work cover.
• Lodge superannuation contributions.
• Reconcile profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
• Prepare monthly reports, including cash‑flow analysis.
• Mentor and develop junior staff.
• Oversee workflow and compliance of junior team members.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma with a major in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
• Tech‑savvy with a quick learning ability for new systems.
• Prior experience using Xero accounting software.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word.
• Previous experience mentoring junior staff.
