Senior Accountant

About the role

Archway Recruitment is partnering with a large, asset‑intensive organisation in New Zealand to hire a Senior Accountant. This hands‑on position sits at the centre of the finance function, offering ownership of group accounting and reporting while collaborating with stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead group consolidations and month‑end reporting across multiple entities.
• Prepare and review consolidated group financial statements.
• Manage year‑end statutory reporting and audit processes.
• Oversee group‑level tax compliance in partnership with external advisors.
• Handle lender and debt reporting, including interest and covenant reporting.
• Coordinate group budgets and forecasts.
• Act as finance system owner and subject‑matter expert for the group ERP, managing vendor and auditor relationships.
• Provide insight, analysis and guidance to business stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of reporting, systems and finance processes.

Required profile

• CA qualification (or equivalent) or strong accounting background.
• Experience with group consolidations and complex financial reporting, or solid theoretical knowledge.
• Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
• Confidence working with auditors, advisors and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Collaborative, pragmatic style with strong attention to detail.
