Root Cause Analysis Manager

About the role

The Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Manager will lead systematic investigations of technology failures across ANZ New Zealand, turning insights into long‑term fixes and stronger controls. Working closely with engineers, technology managers, risk managers and senior leadership, the role ensures that incidents are fully understood and that remediation actions are effective and tracked.

Key responsibilities

• Lead RCA investigations for incidents, risk events, control gaps and delivery failures across Technology NZ.
• Identify root causes and material contributing causes, and define remediation actions focused on hard controls.
• Drive remediation through prioritisation, tracking and completion.
• Embed divisional learning by analysing patterns across siloed failures and turning insights into governance improvements.
• Improve RCA and problem‑management capability across the technology organisation.
• Provide oversight, quality assurance and challenge on RCA use, remediation effectiveness and alignment with Non‑Financial Risk expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading Root Cause Analysis investigations in a technology environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate findings into actionable controls.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, technology managers, risk managers and senior leadership.
• Experience driving remediation actions to completion.
