Test Manager

About the role

The Test Manager will lead quality assurance across ANZ's multi‑year transformation programme, Ngā Tapuwae. This role shapes testing strategy, drives automation, and ensures that critical banking applications are reliable, accessible and customer‑focused.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end testing for Ngā Tapuwae initiatives, defining how quality is delivered at scale.
• Create clear, practical test plans that set delivery up for success.
• Partner with business, product and technology teams to align on priorities and outcomes.
• Coordinate testing across teams and external partners to keep complex delivery moving smoothly.
• Drive high‑quality execution across SIT, UAT and beyond, ensuring solutions are ready for customers.
• Provide trusted insights on progress, risk and readiness to support confident decisions.
• Manage defects and risks with a structured approach to keep delivery on track.
• Champion automation and modern testing practices to deliver smarter, faster outcomes.
• Coach and develop testing capability across the programme.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading testing activities for large, complex programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk and readiness.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior stakeholders.
• Customer‑centric approach with focus on accessibility and simplicity.
• Ability to work collaboratively across business, product and technology teams.

Required skills

• Experience with test planning, test execution and defect management.
• Knowledge of SIT and UAT testing phases.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation and modern testing tools.
